600 new jobs to come to Collier County, thanks to Jim Coletta's efforts

As county commissioner, Jim Coletta takes seriously his promise to do what he can to create new jobs in Collier County.

That's why he was instrumental in persuading his fellow lawmakers to approve economic incentives which will allow Arthrex, one of Naples' leading companies, to expand its operations and create up to 600 new jobs over the next two years.

“Despite some rhetoric to the contrary, Collier County is a business-friendly community and the economic incentives approved for Arthrex demonstrate the (county commission's) commitment to creating high-wage jobs,” Coletta said. “I commend Arthrex and company president Reinhold Schmieding for this latest long-term investment in our community and also for the tremendous contribution Arthrex has made to Collier County for more than 20 years.”

Arthrex is planning to build a new 200,000 square foot facility in Eastern Collier County near Ave Maria and renovate and expand their existing facility on Immokalee Road by 100,000 square feet.  The county commission approved $1.2 million for Arthrex paid over five years under the Job Creation Investment Program tied to the creation of 600 new jobs; $1,072,514 in impact fee assistance for both locations and up to $25,000 under the Broadband Incentive Program.

Arthrex was recently named to Inc. magazine’s prestigious Inc. 500|5000 list for 2011, a ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies.
